The
December Issue of BAPTC&B Journal Has Just Been Published Dhaka
20th Feb., '09. The December issue of
the Journal of PTC&B has just been published six seeks later than the
usual publication date due to reasons beyond the control of the
Management Committee. However the delay has been compensated by its
richness of global representation including China, Thailand, Japan, Iraq
and a Mediterranean island and enlarged page numbers .that include a
review article. As readers may have noticed that the journal has added one
new feature. from now on potential contributors and directly submit their
papers. The finally revised article(s) will be displayed online before it
is time for a particular number to appear in actual print as a
regular issue. To view the contents click

December
Issue of the J. Plant Tissue Culture & Biotech is on line
Dhaka, January 22, 08. The
articles of the December issue of the
J. Plant Tissue Culture & Biotech
are now available on line including
supplemental information if provided by the author (http://www.gnobb.org/Jute_Homology_table.doc).
The hard copies will be out in a couple of days. In keeping with the
current trend there are more and more articles (5 out of 12 in 17(2)
in biotechnology in the last two issues of the journal. Many of our members
are frank enough to tell us that they will consider to submit their
articles to this journal, only when we shall attain international standard.
We don't blame them. However, it reminds us of the age-old adage: egg first
or chicken first. Submission of articles containing important research
results will surely raise the journal's standard helping it to be
included and indexed by ISI. At present it is indexed by
Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS
Previews, Elsevier Bibliographic Databases. We do hope that GNOBB members
will bear in mind that together we can make this journal internationally
competitive.
According to GNOBB database there are
more than 250 biotech SCIENTISTS working in Bangladesh and abroad. There is
no reason why with this skilled manpower we cannot earn this distinction.
Certainly it is within our reach. The contents of the current issue is
only
one click
away.

June issue of Plant Tiss. Cult. & Biotech
vol 17(1) – 1/3rd Articles on Biotechnology
Austin, July 8, 2007. Including two short communications, there are 13 articles of which five are related to different aspects of molecular biology. Since the announcement of the change of title of the journal from the Journal of Plant Tissue Culture to the Journal of Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology, to cover a wider variety of articles, this is the first time that more than one third of its contents are on topics
of biotechnology. GNOBB take this opportunity to warmly congratulate the contributors, who chose this journal to publish their research findings. As representative organization of the biotech community,
GNOBB and the Editorial Board of the Journal sincerely hope that more and more BB will consider publishing some of their important findings in BAPTC&B. This move will make the journal internationally competitive, elevating its standard and impact factor. The journal is at present indexed by Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews, Elsevier Bibliographic Databases; and its application for inclusion in the “Current Contents” is under consideration. The contents of the current issue can be accessed by clicking here or the title.

Vol. 16, No. 1 of J.
Plant Tissue Cult. & Biotechnology (2006) is out
Austin June 29, 2006. The
first issue of volume 16 of the Journal of Plant Tissue Culture &
Biotechnology (2006) is just out including its online version. The
online version can be viewed at the following link:
http://www.baptcb.org. It contains a
mini-review on a much talked-about topic, “Three
Different Methods of Expression Profile Analysis in Plants” by
Mari L Salmi, Thomas J Bushart,
Greg B Clark MCDB, UT,
Texas.
From this issue onward, the journal would be indexed in
Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews and
Elsevier
Bibliographic Databases
Through this Forum the Editor appeals to GNOBB members to enrich
this journal by their articles. Of course, it is well nigh
impossible that Bangladeshi researchers working in the developed
world can submit their papers to PTCB journal but they can always
send mini reviews in their area of specialization. Furthermore,
those who are engaged in Ph.D. or M.S. research may consider
approaching their supervisors to send us their preliminary findings,
currently inadequate for publication in the European, American and
Japanese journals.
The controversy which is first: chicken or egg
boggles our minds. Forum members may think that they would wait
until this journal reaches international standard. But the truth
is that “the more good quality articles are published in this
journal, the faster its standard will go up.” That way it is up to
us what we should do to upgrade this journal. It may be mentioned
here that by its rich contents and quality, the recently launched, “Indian
journal of Biotechnology” has already earned worldwide recognition. With
the cooperation of the BB, this seemingly impossible task may come
to reality. That day Bangladeshis will feel proud to publish their
papers in the Journal of PTC&B.
