| The first meeting presided by Professor Yusuf Haider, Pro-VC, DU was held at CoE on 2nd December to discuss details about the two forthcoming workshops on National Biotech Policy to be held on the 28th December, 06 and April 4th through 6th 2007. The one-day workshop is divided into three sessions: a) presentation by NRB scientists, b) presentation by local scientists and c) discussion on biotech policy which will include, " Role of NRB scientists in promotion of biotechnology research in Bangladesh." It was also decided that the cost of the workshop estimated to be around Tk. 50,000 will be borne by DU. Another redeeming feature of the workshop will be extending of invitation to senior students of the two universities, namely, DU and BU and faculty members of relevant departments to the workshop.
