Area of Specialization : Molecular biology and plant biotechnology
Achievement : After graduation from Bangladesh a second MSc was completed at the University of Edinburgh by securing the British Technical Cooperation Fellowship. In 2004, I received Ph.D. degree from the University of Hannover, Germany.
Future Plan : As a Visiting Fellow at the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada as well as a member of Forest Biotechnology Group at the Pacific Forestry Centre, I am involved in forest biotechnology research to understand host (Douglas-fir) and pathogen (Phellinus sulphurascens) interactions. Proteomics would be the primary device to characterize pathogenesis related proteins, while genomics would be the subsequent technique to identify and clone the genes encoding pathogenesis related proteins through construction of a full-length cDNA library.
Research Interest : Proteomics, Recombinant DNA techniques, Plant Tissue Culture and Transformation
